End of The Week Notes...

With the buzz surrounding the presidential races this week following the New Hampshire primary, it is hard to forget that there are plenty of local races that will be decided in June.

In the San Diego City Council District 3 race, Steve Whitburn pickup the endorsement from Congressman Bob Filner. Both of San Diego's Democrats in Congress have now weighed in on the District 3 race. It is interesting that both Assemblywoman Lori Saldaña and State Senator Christine Kehoe have yet to endorse in this race.

Also this week, I heard that Auday Arabo easily won the endorsement of the Chicano Democratic Association. In the coming weeks both the San Diego County Young Democrats and the Eastlake-Bonita Democratic Club will be having endorsements in the 78th Assembly race. It will be interesting to see where their endorsements go.

Well at least this might help Auday grab a little steam since most the activists seem be supporting either Marty or Arlie. It seems tat Auday is getting lobbyist money but not a lot of grassroots support.

Auday is getting the lobbyist money, but Marty seems to be running the quintessential Sacramento run campaign. I don't think he'll get much grassroots support. My money is on Arlie to win the primary.

All this is proving is these little groups can be bought and sold and not for a whole lot of money. It's insulting really.

auday is such a joke. taking money from tobacco? trying to ban gay parades? It's like he keeps forgetting he's pretending to be a democrat now, after switching parties. there's no way san diego will let him win.

The CDA is full of a bunch of "would be" king and queen makers. They have tried to buck the establishment in nearly ever race they have been involved with in the south bay and at best, acted like a spoiler. Anyone remember Remy Bermudez? That is what we will be asking about Auday in a few years.

I'm sorry, but any Democratic Club that endorses Auday is suspect. He was a Republican a year ago, right? Arlie and Marty are both REAL Democrats, at least.

What a joke. No wonder politics south of the 8 is such a basketcase. These so called activists, self appointed guardians, border guard of the democratic party have done such a great job of doing the grassroots organizing, vote counting and mobilizing for so long, that of course someone like auday is going to present a viable and realistic opportunity for democrats to win in the south bay. God bless Arlie and all these alleged activists who supposedly have the interest of the people at heart ( what people and what heart ). These asstivists are the reason that the 78th has been held by republicans all along! So do me a favor all you vestile activists who have previously invested your incompetence and your unfocused energy into candidates like vince hall, maxine sherard, and now marty block. Do me a favor and just keep being yourself..keep bitterness alive..keep on being ineffective..keep on accepting defeat, without understanding that you and the afore mentioned candidates are the reason that democrats have been dead on arrival after the primary.

Yes, I'm supporting Auday Arabo and yes he is going to kick your ass and yes the democrats are going to win, and yes the 78th will no longer be the redheaded stepchild or the peroxide blonde stepchild that communicates clearly to everybody including Sacrmamento, that San Diego Democrats have their head so far up the orafice of their choice that they can't win a gimme like the 78th.

P.S. BITE ME!
