Marty Block Fails to Get Dem Endorsement

Once again Marty Block came up a few votes short on getting the Democratic Party endorsement for the 78th Assembly district primary race. By coming up short for a second time, the big winners tonight were Arlie Ricasa and Auday Arabo. Speaking of Arabo, tonight the assembled delegates he announced that he had gained the personal endorsements of Speaker Fabian Nunez and Speaker-to-be Karen Bass. The timing of the announcement obviously helped to deny Block the party endorsement, but was nowhere enough to get Arabo the party endorsement himself.

One final note: Since the CDP has officially taken no position on the 78th race, it now falls to the San Diego County Democratic Party if they want to take a position on the race.

Wow if Auday really got those endorsements then I'm switching parties since the dems are relegated to money-grubbing self-interests, wait I thought that was the Republicans...wow I figured that from Fabian...but Karen?...sheesh I guess tobacco and alcohol go hand in hand or hand in pocket in Sacramento...

Wow, Karen Bass' first move in San Diego is to oppose the labor-backed candidate. Looks like we are in for Fabian the Second.

It sounds like an Auday love-fest here with HIS blocking the vote...HIS support from the outgoing and incoming speaker...I heard that he had 1 vote at the caucus meeting, which was his own and the incoming speaker has yet to make a decision on anyone...so are we blowing things out of proportion here or has tobacco and alcohol money got to you too?...Makes me wonder how we look as a party...

Karen Bass is coming to San Diego soon. She will headline for another woman of color, Assembly Democrat, Lori Saldana.

I cannot believe that Karen did not support Arlie or at minimum Marty Block.

I hope Fabian is not using his tactics to keep Karen from excercising her powers as speaker elect. I heard he withdrew 5,000,000 from the CDP to his speaker account last month. He needs to be stopped.

We need to show up at the event in April here in San Diego and get to the bottom of this fiasco.

We made need to help Fabian step down sooner. He is a mess. And his career in politics needs to end. Maybe he can go work for tobacco or insurance like his old friend Juan Vargas.

The best part was that Marty Block had 5 or 6 votes from the Chico State Young Democrats, who somehow all had proxy votes... and still didn't get the nod... note that is over 20% of the total vote came from our good friends from Chico State.

From Chico State yes, but don't forget, they were proxies.
Meaning, they were voting for those who couldn't attend the convention.

I don't even understand why this was posted ...perhaps a cheap shot towards Arabo? Arlie Ricasa is a tenacious oppertunist who's school board campaign records should actually be reviewed...you'll see how outside interests such as developers, contractors, and people from los angeles have bought her seat.
