According to the WSJ:
Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is mobilizing its store managers and department supervisors around the country to warn that if Democrats win power in November, they'll likely change federal law to make it easier for workers to unionize companies -- including Wal-Mart.
The article claims that Wal-Mart's reasoning behind the move is to stop passage of the Employee Free Choice Act. Wal-Mart has stooped to a new low in trying to force their employees to vote Republican.
I wonder if these mandatory meetings where they "informed" their employees of how they would like them to vote were any different than the intimidation and other practices that are used to prevent employees from forming a union.
I shouldn't be surprised since it is just another example of Wal-Mart doing everything it can to prevent the fair treatment of their employees.

Yes, because EVERY company should be forced to have their worker's unionize. Because thats what EVERY worker wants... to be apart of a union.
Because, as we all know, unions are the best thing that ever happend to this country! Sans, the corruption, scandals, backroom deals, lying, cheating, dirty politics, killing people, and generally bad public policy positions. :-p
You're right. Not every worker wants a union. But those who do want to form a union should be guaranteed the right to do so without intimidation from their employer.
In a perfect world the Employee Free Choice Act wouldn't be needed, but companies, such as Wal-Mart, have proven that workers who wish to form a union still need protection from their employer.
Ask any of the 60 million Americans who say they would join a union if they could.
To quote South Park, "working at Wal-Mart is like having no money."
I don't see how working for a union earns you extra money either. Most of the money you make goes back into the union which goes to the union bosses and into campaigns that onyl benefit the union bosses anyway.
Unions are a joke! Sorry, but in a 21st century economy they're not needed.

How much do I pay a month for full-family health care? $0
Generous company contribution towards retirement? Check.
Ability to properly defend my job should the company act unfairly? Check.
An average of 30 percent higher wages? Check.
2:33 is a joke. Union "bosses" are democratically elected by union members. The amount union members pay for representation to their unions is a small fraction of the advantage they have in earning power over unrepresented workers.
Unions suck. 'Nuff said.
