Too Many Dots, Too Easy to Connect

Fox6 just did a story on the proposed budget cuts in Chula Vista. The tax "advocate" they chose to interview was none other than Carl DeMaio. Carl's contribution was limited, as he spoke mostly about Chula Vista's new city hall and the lack of budget cuts there.

I'd like to know how Carl is an expert in Chula Vista's budget, and why he was chosen to be interviewed. He is no longer the head of the Performance Institute. He's a City Council candidate in San Diego, not Chula Vista. If Fox was looking for someone who wants to "reform" government in San Diego County, I would think they could have found plenty of more qualified/appropriate people to interview.

I hate to be a conspiracy theorist, but this does seem kind of odd, especially coming from the local Fox affiliate.

UT has Pickup Loren Nancarrow Assault Story

As first reported yesterday here on San Diego Politico. 10News weatherman Loren Nancarrow had a confrontation with a union activist Tuesday afternoon were he proceeded to commit assault and battery on the activist. This afternoon the UT finally pickup the story and confirms that Loren Nancarrow was cited for misdemeanor battery by Harbor Police. [Link] I could easily imagine this story being ignored by the UT had it not been for the video being available on YouTube.

Fireworks, and It Isn't Even the 4th of July

Those of you who missed last night's 5 p.m. 10News broadcast, missed some excitement right at the start of the weather segment. The beauty of live TV!

Weatherman Loren Nancarrow grabbed a protestor shouting "10Newsunfair.com," and threw him towards the bay.

From what I have heard, the Harbor Police were called out. They issued a citation to Nancarrow for battery.

The behind the camera workers at Channel 10 have been fighting for a fair contract for more than two years. The station, which had operated under a fair contract for 52 years since KGTV's inception, is refusing to negotiate in good faith.

Dick Cheney is Psychic, He Just Forgot

A friend recently sent me a video from 1994 of the Vice President offering his opinion of what would happen if the United States were to take out Saddam Hussein.

Apparently Dick Cheney is psychic (see video below). Nine years before the invasion of Iraq, he was able to correctly predict the quagmire the United States now faces in Iraq.

I guess he just had the Alberto Gonzales syndrome, and could not remember his own prediction.

It's too bad the mainstream US media couldn't do a little research and uncover the Vice President's vision of post-Saddam Hussein Iraq.

CNN's Anderson Cooper at least spoke to Sharif Ali Bin Al-Hussein and Faisal Qaragholi from the Iraqi National Congress. In each interview, Cooper asked the men their thoughts of a post-Saddam Iraq.

Good job, pretty boy. Maybe you should have asked a few follow up questions, or searched the archives of Operation Desert Storm.
