OK, I really hate to spread rumors. But when you hear a juicy one, with even an ounce of credibility, you have to bite. I got an e-mail today that the progressive forces in San Diego have been trying to find an alternative to Mayor Sanders that could actually have some hope to win. The fear is - as I hear it - that Donna Frye will jump in and make it impossible for a more moderate Dem to make a credible run. So what are some of the names being batted around? Juan Vargas, Steve Peace, Dede Alpert, Christine Kehoe, and some mystery TV personality... Personally, I could deal with just about anyone over Jerry Sanders, but I am intrigued about ANOTHER person with name recognition and celebrity considering a run in San Diego. If Marti Emerald runs in 7... and someone with similar status pops up for Mayor, this election season could look like sweeps!

If this other candidate comes into play before Donna announces and before Steve Frances makes his announcement as planned this fall, then the conservative vote could be split. The race just got more interesting now.
Did you see the POA post today on Voice of San Diego's Cafe ripping into Sanders? By the sounds of it it looks like they could be interested in playing in the mayor's race now.
Maybe Roger Hedgecock? Or Mark Larson? Those guys would be fabulous as mayors. Can you imagine how the Loony Left would freak if Mark or Roger ran? You know all the KOGO listeners would rally around that and how much money would roll in from real Americans who want people to fight against those who wish to debase this country with corrupt unionism
That's the whole point: San Diego is a City for Liberal Democrats, not Neo-Conservative Republicans. We've finally grown up.
Uh "Chris", read the post about KLSD and tell me why a city of "Liberal Democrats" can't keep a Liberal radio station and a liberal mayoral candidate only get 39.8% of the vote and why Rodger and Mark have the highest ratings? Go smoke some more "herb" and tell me why Kusinch will sweep California....
